I Promise Myself...Health, Happiness, Prosperity

So...

Last night I began to think about writing the Day 2 breakdown of the second line in this Promise Yourself mantra. And I struggled. Even now, as early as I am up writing this - it is a struggle - but that could be a lack of coffee and unclear vision.

Promise Yourself
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.
To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.
Christian D Larson

I promise myself to talk health, happiness, and prosperity to ever person I meet.

This actually sounds to me at first thought, like one of those uber-positive nitwits that NEVER has ruffled feathers, NEVER has a bad day, and is in general, a peppy fuckhead that I have always despised. I really don't want to be one of those people in line at the grocery that talks to everyone about health, happiness, and prosperity - those people are annoying. I want to get my groceries and mind my own business. So how can I take this promise, and actually apply it in my life and be genuine about it?

We had a staff meeting last night at work for our second quarter, and one of the purposes of the 2nd quarter staff meeting is to provide a "report card" of the company thus far for 2012. To review the overall 'health' of the company. This does not look at one facet, but everything from dollars and revenue, to turnover, to the upcoming pipeline. We talk about employee morale, and organizational changes....everything that contributes to the overall company well-being. Employees are interested in this information. The overall report card was rated "optimistic", which is very good!

What does your personal report card look like overall? Are you healthy? Are you happy? Are you prosperous?

If not, why not?

These are no-brainers, in my opinion. Every decision you make right now - this moment, determines YOU for the future. YOU are the only person you are in this life journey with ALL THE TIME. Why would you settle for less than what you deserve?

Health
Being healthy does not mean that you turn into an exercise freak, or a no-fat diet freak....talking health to everyone you meet does not mean you become some sort of Billy Blanks peppy fuckhead. It means you recognize that your body carries you, and in order for it to carry you, you have to take care of it! Physically, mentally, emotionally. Treat your body as if it were your child. Would you starve your child? Would you force your child to do countless exercise videos, and then put them down because they are still too fat? Come on. You are perfect. Your body is perfect.

Happiness
Some people equate happiness with having things, or being a certain size, or making a certain amount of money...They say, "I want to be happy" - as if, happiness is something you just get, like a present. I relate this to commentary I have made about people coming to see my shows. Various people have told me, "Oh I would love to catch one of your shows sometime!" As if, "catching" a show is something that will fall in their lap - as if, they will be driving along I-465, and I and my cast will just pop up on the side of the road to perform for them (although this COULD happen, QArtistry is pretty avant garde). You cannot ever, EVER, just hope to CATCH a show. It takes planning. It takes an actual concrete decision to take the time, to reserve a ticket, drive to the theater, walk in, find a seat, and then see the show. Happiness is the same concept. You cannot just hope to one day be granted happiness. YOU have to take the steps to be happy, NOW. Why wait for fuck's sake? What are you waiting for? You would rather sit in misery, staring at your pathetic life, choosing to be miserable and gloomy, until all the stars align in what, a week....a month...and THEN you will be hit with the cloud of magic happy????? Delusion.

You may say that CHOOSING to be happy now is a delusion. Perhaps. I for one, would rather live out my days in a happy delusion than a miserable delusion, but that's me.

Prosperity
Prosperity is the state of flourishing or thriving. What an incredible state to be in! I want to flourish, if no other reason than it sounds REALLY COOL to say "flourish". I actually picture a flamenco dancer when I say the word "flourish", in a red swingy dress...that makes me happy. When Spock would tell people to "Live long and prosper", yes, he was actually telling people to live a long time as red swingy dress-wearing flamenco dancers!!!

No, he wasn't.

I don't have a lot of money, but I am flourishing. I have never cared about having "stuff", but I am flourishing. My bucket list is not even CLOSE to being completed (and I hope I keep adding to it!) but I am flourishing.

The Lisa Marie report card is overall, optimistic. And THIS, I will share with others. I am optimistic. I am not a peppy fuckhead that has positivity overload, but my life overall, where it is now, with everything that I have learned to lead me to the point I am at RIGHT NOW, I get an A. This moment, is all I have.

Be healthy, happy, and prosper, RIGHT NOW!
